1. Proof that my three-year-old cousin is a kid genius

    Scene 1 on the metro:
Aunt: Aretha, you go home with grandma first and you may buy yourself an icecream cone and also get one for mommy, okay? So remember, you buy TWO.
    Aretha: Okay!
Aunt: (5 minutes later) Okay Aretha, I’m getting off here. Remember to buy icecream for me! Oh, get one for jie-jie (older sister) too!
Aretha: (with a befuddled look on her face) Waiiit…so I buy three?!

    Scene 2 at the mall:
Aretha: (speaking to someone giving out balloons) I want two balloons!
Yenting: Then I want two, too! Yenting’s one year older
Aretha: (looks to Yenting) Why do you want three balloons?!
Adults are confounded as to where she got the number three. Then they realized, she asked for two initially: one for herself, one for Yenting.
