More Walking, Less Driving by DDB China Group:
DDB China Group took over a busy pedestrian crossing and placed a large canvas featuring a leafless tree on the road. On either side of the crossing were sponge cushions soaked in green environmentally-friendly washable and quick dry paint. As pedestrians walked towards the crossing they stepped on the sponges and the soles of their feet made footprints on the tree. Each green footprint added to the canvas like leaves growing on a bare tree. By walking they could create a greener environment. Via.

First off, acehotel has a Tumblr blog!
Secondly, I am wondering what you think of the new “would-be-Chelsea Hotel” model of artists doing up rooms with murals?
Kate Neckel just finished drawing on the wall in room 1208 at Ace Hotel New York. Some friends stopped by while she was working. Here’s her story:
I looked and looked and looked around the hotel. I picked up some black acrylic paint markers and I drew the stories of the owls, birds, people and objects in the Ace.
While creating this world on the wall, Ace guests and friends and staff dropped in to tell me about their fave Ace things (Robinson from The Breslin points to a burger/fries on the wall), Michelle Buswell (Chris Tucci’s sweetheart) points to a drawing of Liberty Hall. It was perfect since the people of the Ace really make everything come alive.Photos by Cara Bloch and Ryan Burke

“Covers” is a project by John Paul Thurlow. Fascinated by the perfection of glamour magazines covers he decided to redraw his favourite ones.
John Paul explains his project this way: “This is an attempt to remake cover art for every great magazine I own (+ a few record covers soon). Covers is an hommage to the creative men and women who produce such disposable perfection.”

Art By James Voller.
It’s funny to me, over the weekend, I discovered another artist who paints buildings on stones, though I can’t fully remember if it was James Voller or not since it was set in an entirely different local with a slightly different style. However, I simply enjoy the aspect of taking raw cut materials and turning them into homes. It completely transforms the surrounding landscape. Thanks Wooster!

One Bit Experience
Leon Hong and Camile Orillaneda run a small design studio One Bit Increment in central California where they recently launched a hand-made interactive experience crafting a paper forest, buffalo in search of potatoes, hedgehogs ready to be squished. Taking the experience one step further they’re using sunrise / sunset and weather data to mimic the Los Angeles weather.
Read more about the process of making the experience at their blog - One Bit Wonder.
