When I was 5 and under, I used to be deathly afraid of stairs with gaps, but I can see why that’s a smart design choice here: narrow space, low lighting, gets the light through.

This ruins my left-handed, right-footedness, because I always start with my right foot but this dictates that I must start with my left, unless I want to exert extra energy to skip a step. #unfair lol.
